  • The Kakadu National Park entry or use fee would be paid direct by client to Parks at Bowali Information Centre or online. That is $100 for family of 4 (2A2C) $40 per adult and or $30 per concession.

Day 1

HDWL sunset modCollect hire car from Darwin and self-drive to the park. It is recommended that on entering the Park you plan to visit the Bowali Visitor Centre which is designed to introduce visitors to the Park. Enjoy a coffee and a light lunch at Bowali before heading north 40 km’s to the East Alligator or Manbiyarra district and the Border Store.

You could plan to lunch at the Border Store at 1.30 pm ish as the food options and coffee will be better than at Bowali. The choice is yours. By 2.30pm present yourself to the staff on the counter at the Border Store in order to gain access to park your vehicle in the compound and get your luggage ready for the Hawk Dreaming Lodge transfer vehicle at 3pm.

After arriving at the lodge and getting acquainted with the facilities you’ll be treated to a sunset tour taking in nearby rock art sites and nibbles by the Cannon Hill billabong before returning to the Lodge for dinner.

Day 2

inkyu grid galleryBreakfast will be served between 7am and 8am after which you’ll be connected with your Arnhemlander Cultural and Heritage 4wd Day Tour.

With a knowledgeable guide, you’ll experience vast flood plains, towering escarpment, rock art sites, Indigenous artists at work at Injalak Arts Centre and lunch by Inkiyu Billabong.

Your lodge hosts will collect you from your Arnhemlander Tour and transfer you back to the camp. You will again have the opportunity to do another sunset tour nearby the lodge visiting different sites from the previous evening and having nibbles before heading back to the lodge for dinner.

Day 3

Breakfast will be served between 7am and 8am after which you’ll be transferred back to the Border Store to connect with your vehicle and the nearby 9am Guluyambi Cultural Cruise departure. The cruise duration is 1 hour and 45 minutes. After your cruise head to the nearby (4km’s) Ubirr Rock complex.

After viewing the rock art sites and experiencing the view from the lookout drive to the nearby Border Store for lunch. After lunch, you head south back towards Jabiru (40 kms) to book in your Anbinik Suite at Anbinik Kakadu Resort at or after 2pm in Jabiru. Spend the afternoon enjoying your room and relaxing around the pool. Have an early meal at the Anbinik Thai restaurant.

You’ll need to be up early to source breakfast at the onsite restaurant. At 6.45am am you will depart on a 4wd Spirit of Kakadu Tour. On this day tour, you’ll be guided through the southern end of Kakadu. You’ll either visit Gunlom falls where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll, swim, or for the more adventurous a walk to the top of the waterfall.

Enjoy historic sites and stories of Kakadu including the abandoned Elsharanna cattle station. Your itinerary for the day can vary to suit seasonal access. When Jim Jim and Twin Falls is accessible this day tour will visit these locations. You’ll be dropped back to your Anbinik accommodation around 6 pm and have time to freshen up before having dinner.

Day 5

You’ll need to up early and to have breakfast & check out before departing around 8am to drive 60 km’s to the south of Jabiru to Cooinda Resort to connect with your 9am Yellow Water Cruise. The cruise will conclude at 11am at which time you could visit the nearby Warradjan Cultural Centre which show cases collections encompassing Aboriginal Art and Kakadu history before enjoying a leisurely lunch at Cooinda Resort.

After lunch head, north again to drop into Nourlangie Rock to walk the short loop though the rock art sites and perhaps take in an extended walk. After visiting Nourlangie self- drive back to Darwin arriving before sunset.
